Ivica Petrikova is a Lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Relations at Royal Holloway University of London. Her research and teaching focus on the complex links between poverty, development, and environment globally. She wants the Council to do more to balance the protection of environmentally fragile undeveloped areas with the need to address the unmet demand for more affordable housing as well as housing for the elderly. Further, she would like the Council to help tackle pockets of deprivation by supporting the creation of local-based low-carbon employment opportunities.
