Will Hemmings – a father of 3 and an active member of his local church – has been involved with local charities and organisations in Woking for many years and sees first hand the effect that bad policy, cuts to essential services, and wrong priorities both at a local and national level is having on many local people and businesses. The dire financial situation of Woking Borough Council – effected by the Conservatives and not effectively opposed by the Lib Dems – unfortunately looks to make matters even worse.
If elected, Will would not be afraid to stand against damaging and destructive policies, and would fight vigorously for policies – like those in the Greens ‘Right Homes, Right Place, Right Price’ charter – that seek to ensure any further development is in keeping with community needs, comes with the required services and infrastructure, and delivers affordable housing alongside a sustainable, positive future for our borough.
